May 1990 From the Editor's Desk: REUNION SET FOR AUG llTH!!!! -------------------------------- Virginia- reports that Cliff and John Flaherty III made their First Communions recently. -------------------------------- Bill- Mike - Wendy due Sept. 20th. -------------------------------- Jack- recovering from knee surgery just fine. Thanks for all the good wishes. Nancy - Tar Baby did pretty good on that West Virginia trip three first place ribbons!!! Stephanie - graduates June 3rd on her 18th birthday. Mark- "might" be home around July 4th for a visit. (Ashley had the chicken pox just in time for Jack's visit at Easter!) -------------------------------- Ed- Melissa getting married June 16th. -------------------------------- Mary - always traveling -------------------------------- Karl-

Named Steven Treavor Linda - has new job giving DPT shots to kids Kim - starting own court reporting business called Rapid Reporting, Inc. as of June 1st. -------------------------------- Carolyn - Caroline is pregnant and due November 1st. Philip - Cora had a baby boy, Christopher del Mundo Foss, born April 21, 1990, 71bs 12 oz. 19¾ inches. -------------------------------- Tom - going to Germany and will visit cousins. Also meeting Joan & Heidi while there. -------------------------------- Joan - going to Germany with Heidi to see Passion Play. --------------------------- Reminder: If you need off from work on Friday, Aug. 10th please get your request in to your boss as soon as possible!! Also if you are an out-of-towner and are planning to stay with a relative close to Easton, please make your arrangements soon. ================================ GUESS WHO IS COMING THIS YEAR???

T-Shirts Since the family is growing be leaps and bounds I thought it would be a good idea if EVERY member attending this years Reunion wear a T Shirt in their given "root" colors. See list for your color Virginia - green Bill - orange Jack - red Ed - tan Mary - lavender Karl - white Carolyn - dark blue Tom - light blue Joan - yellow Black will NOT be allowed since we have no black sheep in THIS family!!! Nuns are hereby granted an indulgence by praying for the REST of us!!! If you can't find a shirt in your color please dye a white one by August llth!!!!! There will be a contest to see who has the best shirt. You may decorate your shirt with any motto or picture etc. as long as the base color matches your "Root". ============================== COOKBOOK NEWS
The Cookbook is coming along pretty good. Just give me ONE recipe from every member by July 1st so I have time to type them into the computer. Get with it gang - everyone has at least ONE favorite dish. Copies of the Cookbook will be available at the Reunion. ==============================
Biography of Sister Lucia The second daughter of Cecelia Schroeder and Georges (the "s" at the end is French) La Montagne. An older daughter, Marie, died shortly after birth. Schools attended: St. Joseph's Parochial - grade 1 (classmate of Joan Bamford) St. Bernard's Parochial- grades 2-7 St. Simon and Jude, Bethlehem grade 8 Allentown Central High, Valedictorian, Class of 1955. Entered the Carmelite Monastery of Allentown (Lanark), professing the temporary vows of religious life in 1957, and solemn vows in 1960. Four years later, S. Lucia was asked to assist the newly established monastery of her community in Hudson, Wisconsin. There she has served in various capacities, including Prioress and treasurer. Sister Lucia enjoys playing guitar and organ, gardening, sewing and art. She prints the hand screened greeting cards sent by her community at Christmas and other occasions.
In 1986, S. Lucia was one of four U.S. delegates to an international meeting of Carmelite Nuns at Fatima, Portugal, to rewrite the Constitution of the Order. This gave her the opportunity to visit Germany, and the relations in Bietigheim, especially Emilie and Anna, first cousins of her mother, who had visited them in 1926 and 1931.
